Meeting Wednesday Night Starting at 6:30 p.m. – Update
Monday, October 1st, 2007This is a brief update around some of the discussions that have been taking place around an “agenda” for the Wednesday meeting. At the moment it is starting to look like these are the most important points people would like covered:
- Brief discussion around what worked and what didn’t for the first Toronto Startup Weekend – leading to what do we want to happen in SW2 or whatever the final name is.
- Communications – suggestions for keeping this simple and easy for people to participate in the dialogue up to, during and after the event.
- What is the main “attractor” for your participation?
- The chance to work together with some really interesting and talented people.
- The creation of a “real” company that has a chance to become viable.
- The creation of a viable community project that can have a great result for those in need?
- This could result in 1 specific focus or the choice of multiple weekends with a different focus depending on support levels.
- Based on the vote over question #3, what pre-event prep needs to be done? What do we need physically to be successful?
- Building on question #4, do we predetermine idea selection before the weekend so that we can better focus on building? What, if any, other things could we work on ahead of time that slowed down SW1 and might affect SW2?
- What is the role of Innovation Toronto and where does the “Innovation Accelerator” (the possible ongoing use of meeting, office space etc.) fit in?
- Other suggestions ideas from all of you – if you could send them to me ahead of time we can make certain that we get them up on the board.
That’s it for the moment. Looking forward to seeing all of you who can make it.
